TRIOS

BRASS

ORIENTATION

These trios for brass have been collected and arranged from a variety of sources – manuscript and printed music of the late 16th and early 17th centuries. It is hoped that, besides providing ensemble music for groups of brass players, some of these pieces may be found useful as incidental music for school assemblies, plays or religious ceremonies. These trios may be played in conjunction with the woodwind trios enabling them to be built into a simple three part wind band.

A small or indeed larger ensemble may be built up to include:

Part 1 (1st Bb trumpet/cornet)
Part 2 (2nd Bb trumpet/cornet or Eb/F horn)
Part 3 (Eb/F horn, Bb baritone/euphonium/trombone or tuba).

Optional percussion parts available.
