Bransgore Community Responders - Who we are
We are volunteers from the village trained and despatched by South Central Ambulance Service to attend emergency calls in Bransgore and the 20 square miles around to provide care and support until the ambulance arrives.
We carry oxygen and a defibrillator machine as well as other medical equipment. We can be with a patient very quickly – providing emergency care in the crucial time before the ambulance arrives.
What all members have in common is a desire to assist the community by providing emergency life support in those critical minutes before the arrival of the emergency ambulance. Although we have been loaned a "response car" - See the What's New pages- our responders often travel to incidents in their own vehicles under normal driving conditions, no blue lights– no sirens. Responders are not sent to road accidents, assaults or other incidents where they may knowingly be at risk.
