Club history

The club was founded in 1997 to meet the need for a smaller club in the Basingstoke area which played league fixtures. In 1998 CRFC joined the Hampshire RFU leagues in Hampshire III and finished second, leading to promotion to the much tougher Hampshire II. Unfortunately, relegation followed and the club have now consolidated their position in Hampshire III.
