Amendment to my previous entry - the address was the family lived at 106 Bournemouth Road, Chandlers Ford. Eldest daughter was Gladys now aged 97, still alive and resident in the Eastleigh area (5/5/2011). Her sister is considerably younger and is also alive and resident in the Eastleigh area. They're not online for the purposes of using sites such as these but have traced their family tree back four generations.

Hi, I am a descendant of the Biddlecombe family traced back to the 1700's living at the time in Salisbury Wiltshire. The family trade was of heraldic artists, the name Francis has been carried on even to this day, and forms part of the names of the eldest boys in each family.

With reference to the below, there was a family called Biddlecombe living at 103 Bournemouth Road, Chandlers Ford. Father was Erbie, long time boiler fitter at the railway works. Mother was Annie, housewife, and two daughters - Dot married Ron Holloway from the carriage works at Eastleigh and Betty married ex Italian POW Bruno who was a lodger at her sisters house. The mothers brother was Eddie Reeves long time foreman at Pirrellis.

Hi, my grandmother was Annie Biddlecombe who told me that a Biddlecombe had sailed on The Mayflower. All I can find out is that a James Biddlecombe witnessed a codicil to the will of George Ludlowe who died in Virginia in 1656. This George owned a sixteenth part of the ship "Mayflower". So I am guessing that James knew George and had been for a sail on his ship. Has anyone else heard of this Mayflower connection? Bob Waters
