In the heart of the Forest something stirs ... MUSIC!
Yes, it’s true! In the ancient capital of the New Forest you can hear first-rate professional musicians play anything from Bach to Berio in the intimate surroundings of the Pine Hall at the Lyndhurst Community Centre.
HOW?
By joining the Lyndhurst Music Society (subscription £25 p.a., subject to review) or just turning up for individual concerts (£8 for adults, FREE for youngsters 18 and under). There are usually five concerts a year between late September and March, offering a wide variety of styles: quartets, trios, duos; violinists, guitarists, pianists, cellists, singers, harpists, percussionists ... you name it, we have it!
Some of our soloists are already well-known, others are the pick of the up-and-coming generation to whom we offer vital experience of public performance and whose subsequent careers we follow with great pride.
All concerts are advertised in the local papers, on Radio Solent and by posters in public places. They all take place on Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays starting at 7.45 for 8.00pm. Wine, coffee, tea are available in the interval which also includes the draw for a raffle.
The newly-refurbished Community Centre is properly heated, has easy wheel-chair access and a HUGE car park.
