There are about 4,000 registered players in the British Petanque Association, and many thousands more who play in clubs not afiliated to the BPA.
Within the BPA Southern Region, which organises leagues and competitions, mainly during the summer, there are about 500 licensed players in 30 clubs (19 in Hampshire).
Southampton City Petanque Club (see our website for details of the club and the sport) is one of these. We meet on Tuesday evenings between April and October at Lord's Hill Outdoor Recreation Centre, Redbridge Lane, the home of Millbrook RFC. |
