GOLDEN JUBILEE PARADE GROWS

The launch of the local community celebrations will be marked by a Community Golden Jubilee Parade on Sunday 2nd June 2002 at 10:30am
The Parade will leave Somers Close, and travell along Wavel Way(past shops) across Stanmore Lane and into Mildmay Street on its Way to St Luke's Church.
 
The parade will be led by a band followed by the Union Flag and the St George's Flag and then by marching contingents from the Scouts, Cubs. Beavers, Brownies and Guides from across Stanmore, Olivers Battery and Badgers Farm.
They will be followed by marching contigents of the armed forces cadets and the standards of the Royal British Legion.
In turn will come local playgroups and youth organsations, the local church and choir and then the Mayor of Winchester.
 
It is hoped that the community will join in the spirit of the occasion by coming out and supportimng the parade and adorning their homes accordingly
