The Titchfield History Society transcribed and published in 1998, the first register of what we now call, births marriages and deaths for the village. This was for the period 1589 to 1634, when they limited themselves to baptisms, marriages and burials. The book which costs £10 has sold well, being of interest not only to those tracing their ancestry but also because it illustrates a bit of social history. It is followed now by the register for the years 1634 to 1678. The price of the excellent second register remains at £10. THESE TWO BOOKS CONTAIN THE ONLY COMPLETE TRANSCRIPTS AVAILABLE OF TITCHFIELD PARISH RECORDS FOR THE PERIOD THEY COVER.
Our first two books 'Titchfield-a History' and 'Titchfield-a Place in History' make entertaining reading and contain considerable detail presented in very palatable form.
The third book of the series is 'Titchfield at the Third Millennium'. It is printed in A4 format and contains many beautiful colour pictures.
Other items are offered to assist those wishing to trace family or property information. We also have three booklets which describe walkabouts for children on the abbey, the church and the village. Written in simple language, to make school visits more interesting and effective for the youngsters. We also have a library of information which is not for sale, but for the use of members.
