Titchfield Waterworks
 | The old vilage pump was situated at the top of East Street on the bend in the road near Old Lodge Cottage.
This is the image most seen and shows the pump, the water carrier and his donkey. The cottage behind the water carrier's head was later removed to give rear access to the large house behind. |
|
The Pump
 | | Another image of the pump but this time with a collection of people, the figure on the right appears to be that of a messenger or post boy. |
|
Titchfield Waterworks
 | | It is said that a spudgell of water was more expensive than milk. |
|
A Closer view
 | Here we see a closer vier of the 'waterman' and also the figure on the right who is thought to be village builder William Chase.
The writing on the pump is almost readable.
It stars with 'NOTICE' and ends with 'by order' and 'Hants County ....' |

St Peters
 | | A very fine Victorian postcard of St Peter's |
|
Place House
 | | A similar style and age of postcard as that of St Peter's |
