Mission Statement / Aims and Objectives
CLUB MISSION STATEMENT
Treasure gymnastics will provide a safe, friendly and fun environment where any child may participate in gymnastic activities.In doing this we will help to raise each individuals physical fitness and develop his or hers self esteem. We will help all participants to achieve their maximum potential in our sport through offering quality coaching. We will invest in our coaches and volunteers to ensure their skills develop and they can pass on that experience and knowledge to the participants. By raising levels of physical activity and improving fundamental sports skills we will promote a healthy lifestyle to all participants.
CLUB AIMS AND OJECTIVES:
AIMS:
Introduce the sport of gymnastics to a wide range of children To offer gymnastics training to children who may be overlooked by traditional clubs for financial or social reasons To promote physical activities and healthy lifestyles to children and young people To develop each individual participant to his / her maximum potential To provide a safe, friendly, fun and productive environment for gymnastics training to take place To provide quality coaching to each individual To become a centre for local schools to direct children with talent
OBJECTIVES:
To develop links with local schools so that children have the chance to try gymnastics and talent identified can be sign posted appropriately To offer gymnastics classes across a range of venues to ensure access for a wide range of participants To educate and mentor trainee coaches to a high standard To achieve the “gym mark” quality assurance from British gymnastics |
CODE OF CONDUCT - GYMNASTS
CODE OF CONDUCT – GYMNASTS:
· I will try my best
· I will work as part of a team and be nice to my team mates.
· I will follow the club behaviour rules
· I will always come to gym unless I have a good reason (Illness / Doctors appointment etc)
· I will not argue with coaches / judges and helpers.
· I will help my team mates and friends by cheering them on, not criticizing them
· I will use correct and proper language at all times.
· I will tell my coach if I am injured or feeling unwell
· I will tell someone I trust at gym (any adult) if there is something I am unhappy about

CODE OF CONDUCT - COACHES / HELPERS
CODE OF CONDUCT – CLUB COACHES / VOLUNTEERS:
· Consider the wellbeing and safety of participants before the development of performance.
· Develop an appropriate working relationship with participants, parents / guardians and other organisations based on mutual trust and respect.
· Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part.
· Promote the positive aspects of the sport
· Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance.
· Follow all guidelines laid down by British gymnastics.
· Hold appropriate valid qualifications and insurance cover.
· Never exert undue influence over participants to obtain personal benefit or reward.
· Never condone rule violations, or the use of prohibited substances.
· Encourage participants to value their performances and not just results.
· Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.

CODE OF CONDUCT - PARENTS
CODE OF CONDUCT – PARENTS / GUARDIANS:
· Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them.
· Discourage arguing with coaches / judges and cheating.
· Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.
· Never force your child to take part in gymnastics.
· Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performances of all.
· Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.
· Support your child's involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
· Use correct and proper language at all times.
· Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.
· Inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.
· Ensure that my child will attend all sessions possible and, when not possible inform the coach in advance.
· Encourage your child to treat other participants, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, colour, sex or ability.
· Report to treasure gymnastics any perceived misconduct by coach, player, parent or official so it can be dealt with in the appropriate manner.

COMPLAINT / GREIVANCE PROCEDURE
COMPLAINT AND GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE:
Treasure gymnastics is committed to the welfare and safety of all its members.
Minor matters that arise during the course of a session will be the responsibility of the coach in charge of the session.
Any significant matters will be reported to the head coach, welfare officer and in turn the club committee.
If any party (Gymnast / parent / coach / club official) is unhappy with decisions made during the course of a session they should raise their concerns with the club welfare officer.
Any complaints / concerns or grievances outside of training should be discussed with the club welfare officer. All matters will be dealt with promptly and confidentially.
If a complaint cannot be solved satisfactorily (to all parties) at club level British Gymnastics will be notified and their procedures implemented.
