Les has completed his Munros

Congratulations to Les Meers who completed his final Munro on 27th October 2005. It had taken him 16 years to complete the Munros and his final ascent was Ben Lui with 9 other members of Hereford Mountain Club. There was much celebration at the top with whisky, hugs, toasts, photos and butties. Although the malt was slightly marred by the plastic cups! Les has a few memorable events of the other Munros: his first abseil on the In Pin, the body thump when ball lightening struck the top of Gleourich a short distance ahead, turning back 200 feet from the top of Ben More (Crianlarich) due to ice and no axe or crampons, a perfect sun over snow day on Beinn Eighe and a head torch slog along Loch Mullardoch. So well done Les, what an achievement and good luck Rob who plans to complete his Munros on August Bank Holiday weekend.
