MAKE A PACT AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The next round of PACT meetings is upon us – so make sure you use your chance to make your voice heard.
The chance to speak up and have your say on any issues that affect your local community is coming around again in the next round of PACT – Partners And Communities Together meetings. PACT is an opportunity for members of the local community to say how they want their local area to be policed and to bring concerns about quality of life issues to the attention of the police and its partner organisations. Organised by Herefordshire Partnership, the PACT meetings give you the chance to tell the agencies delivering the services in your area what issues are important, so we can then work with you to find the solutions. Equally, if you have an idea on how to solve a local issue then we want to hear from you! PACT is all about finding the solutions to problems to improve quality of life, so make your voice count by adding your local PACT meeting into your diary. The PACT schedule is: · South Wye St Martins and Hinton, Tues 22 April, Kindle Centre · Hereford Rural, Weds 23 April, Council Chamber, Brockington, Hafod Road, Hereford. · North Wye St James and Central, Thurs 24 April, St Peter’s Church Hall, St Peter’s Square, Hereford. · North Wye St Nicholas and Three Elms, Tues, 29 April, The Courtyard, Hereford · Kington, Weds 30 April, Lady Hawkins Leisure Centre · Bromyard, Thurs 1 May, Falcon Hotel Mews · Ross-on-Wye, Tues 6 May, Larruperz Centre · Leominster, Weds 7 May, The Forbury Chapel · Ledbury, Thurs 8 May, Burgage Hall, Church Lane · South Wye Belmont, Mon 12 May, Belmont Community Centre · North Wye Aylestone and Tupsley, Weds 14 May, Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat School · Golden Valley, Thurs 15 May, Golden Valley Community Centre

Strategy a boost to county safety
Herefordshire Community Safety and Drugs Partnership has launched a new three-year strategy to continue to reduce crime and substance misuse across the county.
The Partnership brings together a number of key service providers who work together to tackle community safety and drug issues across Herefordshire. The Partnership also works alongside numerous community and voluntary organisations, as well as the people who live and work in the county.
Since its establishment, the multi-agency statutory partnership has seen a reduction in all recorded crime by 20%, including a 66% fall in house burglaries and a 34% reduction in vehicle crime.
The new strategy focuses on five key areas:
Reducing Crime through Offender Management and other interventions.
Reducing Drug and Alcohol Harm
Promoting and Delivering increased Road Safety
Providing Community Reassurance in Anti-Social Behaviour, Disorder and Crime
Multi-Agency and Community Dynamic Tasking and Co-ordination
Two other themes were identified as having such impact across all other areas, that they should be considered within each of the other 5 groups individually. These are:
Young People (victims and offenders)
Violent Crime
