An Example Case

Bogus Official Warning.

Incident occurred on Tuesday 19/07/05 in Leominster, around lunchtime. He was last sighted in South Street, Leominster at about 1.30pm.

Person described as :-
White male, 27 – 40 years, tall and slim.
Very dark and very short hair, clean shaven
Sunglasses, light coloured shirt with a small dark check pattern on it and wearing blue jeans. Was wearing brown shoes.
He was clearly spoken with no particular accent.

Vehicle seen :-
Dark green Peugeot 406 estate car, with roof rails and “spoke style” wheel trims.
In the rear of the car was a container with a bright green lid on it.

Offence details:-
The male approached the elderly female victim whilst she was in her garden. He intimated he was from Heritage Windows and persuaded her to hand over an amount of cash. He then drove her to her bank, where she withdrew a substantial amount of cash, and handed it all over to him. The suspect drove around the one-way system in Leominster, without any problems, which could suggest he lives locally. He also carried a mobile phone with him.

This information is issued to raise awareness of these type of offences and increase vigilance, and to request information on anything you may deem suspicious in connection with them.
