An Amazing Result
 | Only a matter of hours after their home victory against The Herefordshire, Kington travelled to Patshull Park to take part in the second round of the quadrangular tournament. However Chirk could not field a team so it became a triangular tournament involving the hosts, Borth and Kington.
Kington produced a brilliant all round display which resulted in a staggeringly emphatic win. Kington finished on 256 points with Patshull on 225 and Borth 3rd on 183.
The top five individual places all went to Kington players. Matthew Davies (46), Sam Philpotts (46), Dan Aldridge (44), Peter Handley (42) and Bryan Kirkham (41). They were ably supported by Andrew Lloyd (37) and Ben Hughes (36). Sam Lloyd, by his standards, had an off day (30), but he was entitled to rest on his laurels after easily winning the Hussey Cup the previous week.
As the Kington team left the hotel cries of ‘Bandits’ could still be heard reverberating around the course. All five leading scorers had their handicaps cut before leaving Patshull!
The Kington Organisers entered into the spirit of the occasion defeating their Patshull opponents on the 18th.
The weather was excellent as was the organisation and with a result like that Kington went home well pleased.
September 1st sees the next round at Kington when it is hoped Chirk or a replacement fourth team will participate.
