Burghill Valley v Kington Tuesday 29 May 2001

Kington’s inexperienced side went into its opening League fixture full of confidence after its fine performance at Chirk and in spite of the absence of Andrew Lloyd.
Unfortunately, immediately prior to the start of the match, captain Peter Handley pulled out of the team suffering from some morning sickness!
So with two reserves Kington suffered a 6 – 0 drubbing.

Sam Philpotts did well after an amazing tee shot on the first: it is hoped the occupants of the house in question have now recovered.

The course was in excellent condition. The meal was good. Sam Lloyd, was an able deputy captain. The weather couldn't be faulted. It was just Kington's golf that ruined an otherwise pleasant day.
In mitigation Kington's entire team played off 28. They will improve.
Wait till Kington reopens and next season!
