A New President
AGM Weekend
The weekend began with the business meeting. The Society’s committee recommended that Mr Ronald Blythe be elected as President, following the sad death of David Lockwood. The meeting wholeheartedly concurred with the recommendation and chairman Michael Sharp welcomed Mr Blythe.
Following the business meeting, everyone enjoyed refreshments after which Society member, John Toman, gave an interesting talk entitled ‘Bath Perspectives’.
The next day, members met at the Swan at Hay-on-Wye and enjoyed a slideshow and talk given by member Alan Bull on ‘Churches Associated with Francis Kilvert’. During the second half of the morning, Karl Showler, a local historian, gave an interesting talk about Father Ignatious.
The afternoon was free and in the evening everyone met for dinner at the Swan. Members were invited to attend church the next day at St Mary’s, Hay-on-Wye.
