Kilvert's Last Home and Church
 | The photographs above show Francis Kilvert's home in Bredwardine, the vicarage stands next to the church. Kilvert was Vicar of Bredwardine for two years from 1877 to 1879. He died just before his 39th birthday. The Vicarage is now privately owned. Francis Kilvert lies in the churchyard near the hedge between the vicarage and church. His wife, Elizabeth, lies in the far left hand corner of the 'other' churchyard (standing with your back to the church, facing the 'other' churchyard) This is really a continuation of the churchyard surrounding the church but you have to cross a short grassy path to get to it. The churchyard, near Kilvert's grave, is a carpet of snowdrops in February and following the snowdrops, daffodils grow either side of the entrance to the church. Septuagesima, 9 February (1879) - 'The first snowdrops appeared in the churchyard.' |

Clyro Village School
 | | Kilvert first mentions the school in the Diary in May 1870. He taught there for some while, teaching the three R's and the catechism. Children from round the parish attended, between the ages of 4 and 12.* It is now a private house and also a bookshop for people with a passion for cars.(*From Exploring Kilvert Country by Chris Barber) |

Monnington on Wye
 | Kilvert enjoyed visiting his sister, Thersie, at her home in Monnington on Wye. This photograph is taken at the lower end of the avenue, looking up towards Brobury Scar.
Sunday, 23 April 1876
One of the quiet peaceful Monnington Sundays. I like a Sunday at Monnington, it is so calm and so serene. There is no hurry, no crowd, no confusion, no noise.
