Aberystwyth
 | Kington reached Aberystwyth with only Dan Aldridge missing from a full strength squad. He was replaced by Jon Thorne. The match was played in excellent conditions and there was no excuse for bad golf. Aber won the team event with 205 points, followed by Kington 193, Patshull 180 and Borth 160. Individual scores were Matthew Davies 30, Peter Handley 19, Ben Hughes 35, Sam Lloyd 34, Andrew Kettle 30, Sam Bradley 20, Robert Metcalfe 44 (forty-four), and Jon Thorne was disqualified. Robert's 44 was the best of the day. |

Rheidol Field Centre
 | The team and Messrs Metcalfe, Collett and Pritchard stayed at this purpose built schools field centre up in the hills seven miles out from Aberystwyth.
We were treated extremely well and had an excellent supper and partook of some beverages available at the bar.
Next morning a few of our number were feeling a little fragile and there was some evidence of one or two individuals being ill during the night! Fortunately our hosts were most understanding and made no fuss.
After a superb breakfast which included juices, cereals, an enormous fry-up, toast etc and coffee and tea Messrs Metcalfe and Pritchard felt they could cope without food for at least a couple of hours and we moved on to Borth.
Incidentally we were charged £15 with no charge for the supper so Rheidol is definitely the place for a stop over if one wishes to avoid the fleshpots of the coast!

Borth
 | In appalling weather conditions the four teams set out at 11 30. Several players walked in unable to tolerate the rain, the wind and the cold. Not so Kington. With Matthew Davies unavailable Dan Aldridge took his place and Jon Thorne retained his place.
Team scores were Aberystwyth 205, Borth 202, Kington 195 and Patshull Park 184.
This meant that Kington had won the Quadrangular Shield for the second successive year (only having entered for the past two years) with 860 points, second were Aberystwyth with 799, Patshull on 790 and Borth last with 783.
Easily the most outstanding score of the day was by Sam Bradley with 44 points. The next best score was 37!
