Tom Paxton.
 Born in Chicargo, America, Tom was raised in Oklahoma. He studied Theatre at college with the initial idea of becoming an actor. His musical activities predominated, however, and he decided to become more active in this area.
In the army he was posted to New York. As many had done before him, he started singing in Coffee Bars. After the army he remained in New York and his singing took off to the point where he remains one of the great singer/songwriters of his age.
Tom prefers to perform in concerts rather than clubs, saying that if he has to leave home he might as well reach out to the biggest possible number of people he can.
