The Focus of Life in Burghill
The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Burghill,is themost loved and one of the most used facilities in the parish, and, in conjunction with the school and youth organisations, it is a major shaping influence for good in so many lives. This is going to continue throughout the coming century and way beyond.
Founded on this site in the 12th Century, the beautiful church was well known to many famous people in history including Sir Edward Elgar and the poets Wordsworth, Coleridge and Shelley.
The Sunday services are at 7.45 a.m Holy Communion and a Parish Eucharist at 11.00a.m. Notices of other services each week will be posted on this site.
The Vicar is the Revd. Jimmy Morrison, the curate is Revd. Heather Baker and Lay Reader Mr. Dennis Gisbourne.
