We are committed to Equal Opportunities
Equal Opportunities Policy (2007)
Herefordshire Service User Network is committed to providing equality of opportunity in all of its practices. We recognise that our success depends on our volunteers, Group Members and all persons in connection with the Group and the continued development of their skills and abilities. The Group should always recognise support for all disabled persons and encourage Independent Living.
We will not allow any unfair or unlawful discrimination and aim to ensure that no person receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of disability, race, colour, nationality, religion, ethnic or national origin, age, gender, gender reassignment, marital status or sexual orientation, except where this is necessary to ensure that the Group is run safely and effectively.
Anyone involved with the Group has a responsibility to apply this policy in practice.
Herefordshire Service User Network promises to:
1. Review its Equal Opportunity Policy every other year and implement any necessary changes to ensure that it continues to be fair and lawful in all its dealings.
2. Actively promote an attitude of equality of opportunity through necessary training, and to introduce, implement and review group practices to prevent any unfair or discriminatory attitudes from developing, and to provide a means by which all people with whom Herefordshire PSG deals may complain about unfair discrimination.
3. To listen, take prompt action and fully investigate any complaints of discrimination, harassment or victimization, taking appropriate action where necessary.
4. To apply this policy to the treatment of all people with whom Herefordshire SUN deals.
