This Site is for people who can volunteer their time in any way in the ongoing battle to achieve a tidy, litter-free environment for Dacorum. Its purpose is to put them in contact with each other and with Dacorum Borough Council.
It was created on 8th Oct. '03, and it includes some material from the Dacorum Environmental Forum's Volunteer Litter Warden Scheme, which ran for a few years before folding through lack of Council resources.
See the "Types of Problem" page for illustrations of commonly encountered types of problem.
See the "Problem" pages (one page per time period) for illustrated instances of the problem types.
Please contribute to the "Message Board", starting a new "Topic" for each instance of a problem that you encounter, first viewing the "Welcome" Topic as a guide.
If necessary, pursue the problem with the appropriate body (normally Dacorum Borough Council - see the link on this page just above the picture for contact details), and record progress on clearing up the problem by subsequent "replies" to the Topic.
If you have a new problem type or instance you would like me to add to the site, particularly if you can supply JPEG pictures, please do so, either by clicking on "Mail Form" on the left hand margin of this page, or direct to me at gruff.edwards@aeroflex.com.
In order to update the Message Board you are asked to supply some details about yourself, but you may leave other comments in the "Guestbook", where even supplying your E-mail address is optional.
There is now a link from Dacorum's Website to this site.

Wouldn't it be nice if every corner of Dacorum looked as lovely as this part of Northridge Park, Warners End did on Sunday morning, October 12th 2003.
For Dacorum Borough Council, click on the link below, then: Either: A-Z Council Services then "L", then find "Litter" for names, 'phone and fax nos. of relevant Council Officers. Or: "Online Services"/"Cleansing Oversight" for filling in an online report form (unlike messages on the Message Board on this site, these reports will only be seen by Council officers.) "Cleansing Oversight" submissions are auto-acknowledged with a message saying that the Council will either respond or act on the next working day. If this is not the case, you can return and record a complaint under "Online Services"/"Feedback". |
