Facilities

Cassiobury Park consists of; acres of parkland Most of the facilities are administered by Watford Council; Telephone 01923 226400
Paddling pools
These are open in the Summer Months for Children under 11 years and accompanying adults. They are situated near the Langley road Entrance
Vince Marsala operates the paddling pools and kiosks tel 01923 231622
Food
There is a kiosk with an outdoor seating area situated near the paddling pools, serving hot and cold drinks and snacks
The Café Cha Cha Cha is situated near the Shepherds road entrance
01923 247868. Their opening hours are 10am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday; 11am to 4.30pm Saturday and Sunday.It serves Hot and Cold drinks and snacks . panini ,Homemade cakes etc.
It also runs Art workshops and other activities
You are welcome to picnic in the park. Picnic benches by the rustic bridge and paddling pools. Please put rubbish in bins provided or even better take it home with you as; the foxes raid the bins and make a terrible mess.
BBQ are not allowed in the park as they are a fire hazard.
Bouncy castle this generally operates in the summer weekends and holidays. Tel John King: 07870 139291.

Play Areas There is a play area near the paddling pool and another near Cha Cha Cha
There are also
Football, Cricket,Pitches Bowling and croquet Lawns and Hard and Grass Tennis Courts and Basketball Court.
There are five pitches available for the football season, which starts on the first weekend of September through to the middle of April. The pitches are let on Saturdays (available morning or afternoon) on a casual basis: anyone wanting to book one, either for cricket of football, needs to call Audrey Ford 01923 278614 for up-to-date information on pitch availability and to make a booking. On Sunday mornings, the pitches are allocated to the two local Sunday Leagues: the Olympian Sunday League and the Watford Sunday League, and they allocate their teams to use the pitches. Most seasons we have two teams sharing each pitch. They are not available on Sunday afternoons.

Fishing
Information on fishing in the park. River Gade. Best to fish it with either the pole or float fish with a stick float using maggots or sweet corn in the summer months and luncheon meat or cheese in the winter. Roving tactics will pay dividends.Please don't fish above the rustic bridge.Species range from roach , perch, chub, some dace some barbel and odd pike.gudgeon , minnows and sticklebacks can be a problem.Fishes best in the winter months providing there is enough water.If 12 years and over a rod licence is required.There is a closed season from March 15th to June 15th inclusive... The canal Fishing rights are owned by Watford Piscators the stretch above IRON BRIDGE lock is strictly private " members only" but below the lock day tickets are available from the bailiff on the bank. It is not recommended that keep nets are used in particular during hot weather.Membership for the club and it's many waters are available from the web site
