Welcome To The Hertfordshire Herb Group

In 1996 the Herb Society wanted to extend its network of local herb groups in order that herb enthusiasts could meet in the regions. Volunteers set up groups and so the Hertfordshire Herb Group was formed.

The group's aim is to share, learn and delight in every aspect of herbs, including medicine, cookery, cultivation, preservation and drying, as well as their aromatic and cosmetic properties and much more.

We are a very friendly and informal group who welcome people with an interest in herbs at any level. We currently have 40 members and include three medical herbalists but the majority of members are enthusiastic amateurs, of all age groups.

We have a monthly talk on a variety of herb related subjects followed by tea and cake. We also arrange visits to herb gardens in the summer. Come and join us for our next meeting on Wednesday 05 March 2008, when Anne Godfrey from Daisy Roots Nursey will talk about planning your summer garden. You will be assured of a warm welcome!

Location
The group meets at 8pm on the first Wednesday of each month at St Bonavenutures Church Hall, 83 Parkway in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire AL8 6JF (on the same side of the road as the Sainsburys supermarket)

Annual Membership: £12.00 for which you receive a regular newsletter.
There is also a meeting fee of £1.00 which helps towards the cost of speakers, hire of the Hall and refreshments.
