In January 2002, Chris Sargent, Steve Banks and Mark Ernest made the important decision to reform a band after five long years apart. The, then as yet unnamed, band worked tirelessly to find a frontman and vocalist. After three months of auditions, a 24 year-old Essex boy with a cocky smile and a swagger in his walk tried out at the Farm Factory studios in Welwyn. Chris, Steve and Mark were instantly impressed with his presence both as a singer and a frontman and Brad was hired. Months passed, songs were written and beer was drunk, Levanter were born.
The full band line-up did not perform publicly until October 17th 2002 at a low-key gig in O'Neills, St. Albans. After a couple of warm-up gigs in December, Levanter will be concentrating on producing a demo (the progress of which will be updated on this website) in early 2003, with the aim of moving the project towards further success.
The result of the formation of Levanter is a powerful rock band with a fresh yet timeless sound. Their songs are dynamic, have vigour, edge and ultimately stir the very emotions that caused them to be written.
