TEN YEARS OF TEACHING IN NORWICH

I started teaching in the Norwich area after leaving the dojo that I was Training at at that time. This was for personal reasons and in the long run it has done more good than harm.
During September 1994 I formed a Dojo at the Reiyukai Centre in the heart of norwich. The Dojo that I originally trained at also was established there and as they have been there longer than me, I decided to move to the Old Church Duke Street. Unfortunately, The Church had to close so we move to the Small leisure Centre on the main road of duke Street.

We must be very unlucky, that centre had to close owing to the lack of money. We moved on to Angel Road Middle School and stayed there until 1998-99. We had to move eventually because the School wanted the space for other activities during the evenings.

At last, We have now settled at the Norman Centre Bignold Road.

I am hoping to open another dojo at the Ishin Ryu Ju-jitsu Honbu dojo located at Carston near Wotton Norfolk.

I am also looking at the possability of opening another Dojo at R.A.F.Marham This idea is in the early stages of development. We have not completed the research yet of starting Aikido Classes in the Hertfordshire area this has at the moment, still have a number of problems to overcome.

We have come a long way in ten years and I hope that the next ten years will be as successful as the previous years.

UP-DATES FOR 2005

Since I last posted on this page it has now become out of date:

During the Year 2004, I have been lucky enough to be promoted to 4th Dan (YON DAN) I also had the pleasure of teaching at South Shield Leisure Centre CUA Course with John Harding 5th Dan and Jon Stokoe 5th Dan. Although, I did not feel as I did as well when I first visited Newcastle, it was a very successful course and we all learnt a lot from it.

I have now completely shelved the RAF Marham project through lack of interest.

We now have a brand new dojo at Blyth Jex School community Sports Centre. This is a very much better environment to train with a lot more room and facilities.

March 2005, I was inorgorated in to the Guild of Renmei Yudansha. A very great priverlege and honour.

From January,2006, we will officially be part of the CUA Aikido Union. we are looking forward very much as a dojo and hope that we can maintain the quality and foundations that are laid down by the founder of Aikido and work in the way of Aiki.

We are also during 2006, takeing seminars at the Honbu Ishin Ryu Dojo at Caston Wotton, and, I feel that this will be a benifit for all of us with our differing martial arts styles.

The Ishin Ryu international Seminars over the last few years have been very successful and I personally have learnt a vast amount about other martial arts and teaching methods.

Our Dojo at the time of writing, is very small, but I hope in time it will grow. It is better to grow slowly and surely than grow to fast and too large and fall a way quickly because, the Dojo is too large to handle.
