SINGING FOR PLEASURE
 Mixed Choir of Welwyn Garden City
We are one of the most successful mixed choirs in Hertfordshire, whose sole aim is to raise funds for a variety of charities. The choir has raised in excess of £137,000 for good causes. We have a choir of 70+ voices and perform at various venues, from Churches, Theatres, Concert & Village Halls to Shopping Centres - where we sing all day. We perform concerts anywhere around the country, singing a vast range of music including : songs from the shows, ballads & light classics. The choir have sang at various places and events such as : Spalding Flower Festival, Hove Town Hall, Gordon Craig Theatre, BBC Three Counties Radio, Classic FM, Hertbeat FM, Campus West Theatre and St Albans Civic Centre. Recently the choir performed in a Concert of European Music in Hatfield, with twinned choirs from France and Germany. Other events the choir have taken part in include a Millennium Music Festival in France, Sainsbury's Choir of the Year and Cardigan Eisteddfod Competition.The choir is very active performing around 16 concerts a year. Since being formed in 1980 the choir has raised in excess of £137,000 for charity an achievement the choir are very proud of. The choir has helped local as well as national charities including : Great Ormond Street, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Isobel Hospice, Multiple Sclerosis, Help the Aged, Herts Action on Disability, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation and Willow Foundation.
