The band is now firmly established in the Appleby Road Music Centre and currently enjoying a surge in membership.
During the past year we have welcomed into the 'family'; Emma Moody, Flute. Debbie Austin, Alto Sax. Hillary Beskeen Oboe/Alto Sax. Peter Bayliss, Clarinet. Brian and Simon Lock, Father & Son playing Tenor Sax and Trumpet respectively.Linda Davey, Elec.Bass. Denise Wiliamson, Bassoon (Untill the recent retirement of Dorothy Penny we must have been one of the few comunity bands around boasting Three bassoons !. Our very latest recruit to the clarinet section, Stanley Thompson hails from California in the good old US of A, but fortunately for us now resides in Tebay. (He informs us that he moved here for the weather !!).
Sadly, in the past year we lost the services of Dorothy Penny (Bsn) and Yvonne Hoste (Alto Sax) due to retirement.

With band numbers up(vacancies still exist in low brass and trumpet sections) we have felt encouraged to expand our concert season in 2008 with some worthwhile 'earners' for the band fund by sharing the proceeds of concerts with the venues.
Last year we received a very generous grant from the Neighbourhod Forum which enabled us to purchase new music which the band are enjoying rehearsing and performing .
Also active this year our Brass Quintet and Sax Quartet (Both available for weddings, birthdays, barmitzvas, Etc....(especially etc's)
