KIRKBY LONSDALE & DISTRICT CIVIC SOCIETY

The Society was established in 1972 for the following purposes: a)To protect and preserve and stimulate public interest "The Rainbow Parish" , comprising Kirkby Lonsdale, Barbon, Casterton, Hutton Roof, Lupton, Mansergh, Middleton, and Preston Patrick, all in the county of Cumbria. b)To promote high standards of town planning and architecture in the area. c)To secure the preservation, conservation, development and improvement of features of general public amenity or historic or public interest in the area. The Society organizes a series of illustrated talks throughout the winter months, publishes a quarterly newsletter for members, and undertakes a variety of other projects.
