Long Marton - the Heart of Cumbria

The village of Long Marton nestles close to the eastern fell side, in the shadows of Dufton Pike and lofty Cross Fell. It is bordered on the west by the A66 Penrith to Scotch Corner route, and the Settle to Carlisle railway line on its eastern flank.

It is a working village with an 11th century church, several farms, 2 garden centres, school, pub, bakery, a village institute, several B & B's and self catering cottages, plus a relatively new static caravan park.

Long Marton is 3 miles from Appleby, the county town of Westmorland, 10 miles from Penrith and 3 miles from the Pennine Way, making it well placed for all sorts of visitors, be they walkers, cyclists or in motorised transport.
