The Round Cumbria Rail group was set up to get more people to use the lines between Settle & Carlisle and the Cumbrian coastal route. Having travelled through this unspoilt scenery we thought it would be good if more people discovered it.
We took the train from Langwathby to Carlisle where we had a pic-nic lunch. Then it was on to Ravenglass to board the Ratty to Eskadale. A good walk, a good meal and a good few pints in the George IVth pub meant that we slept like logs.
The next day we took the train to Carnforth, before moving on to Settle. Then it was the final leg of the journey, back to Lanwathby through the breathtaking Yorkshire Dales.
