BIRTHDAY BASH
The Asian Catholic Community celebrated the 1st Birthday of Christ Church on the 5th of June 2005 with an Urdu mass. Reverend Alison Geary and Father John Price were present along with members from the Methodist church who took part in the mass.
Father Albert Savaille from Ajmer in India has his own parish in Sheffield and we are very grateful for him to come and celebrate Mass with us every first Sunday of the month. We also appreciate Mr Harish Massey who comes from Doncaster to share the Mass with us. Father Albert served Mass along with Father John Price. The musical instruments played were the Harmonium, Tabla, Dolak and the Tambourine.
A party was held after the Mass. With the help of the kitchen staff Venus, Pearl, Catherine, Parveen, Rani and Shanaz a variety of food was served including rice and minced lamb, yoghurt and salad. For dessert we had a mixture of Asian sweets and the birthday cake.
Thank you Christ Church, we can’t wait for the next birthday bash!
Throughout the week Christ Church held events and the Asian community participated in all activities.
