Joss Gower - Stuntman:
I had a pleasant surprise when I viewed the ‘Guestbook' section of this site, to find a greeting from Joss Gower, who I understand is at present living in Australia.
Joss is BIG, at over six foot; but like many of the others at the park who went into stunt work, is a great guy to know, here’s what he had to say, and some of the films he’s been in:
I have many fond memories of working at the 'AA' and have been doing much since I left in 1992. Have recently moved to Australia!! Who knows what I'll do over here...but I’m sure it will involve stunts somehow. Shame about the 'AA' and all the trouble they are going through, but the solution is easy; forget big rides, put on more entertainments! Do you remember when at times there was over two thousand people watching those shoot out shows at each performance? (I also remember a few times when there were only one or two!).
It's easy to change a show, but to put in or take out a huge ride costs millions$$$$$, not to mention complaints from the local residents. Making the arena into a go kart track was a mistake; all they needed to do was improve the budget for the shows, build some great sets, licence some big movie for a stunt show and bam every year you will get people back. Anyway maybe I do not know what I’m talking about, but the film studios in the U.S know something? Keep up the good work……
And there’s some good thinking there too Joss. We are told that during this century there’s going to be more older citizens living than at any other time in history. They would possibly go to the park for the entertainment; but certainly not for the ‘white knuckle’ rides !! |
