Hello to you all from Bernie the Web Master: I am pleased to tell everyone that because of increased mail activity, that I have decided that this site is to continue, so please keep coming back for what is going to happen over the next few months. I have been approached by a leading video company to use some of the many video cassettes I have of the park, made on full size professional cameras, that are ideal for producing modern DVDs, and produce a series of 4 -6 DVD's , which will be available for general sale to the public. All tapes were shot during the park's best years, and include special events, celebrity visits, and the two 'American Adventure Country and Western Festivals' which featured the late Noel Dillon and the Foster Boys, a fitting tribute to a great country music supporter, and performer. These were private shows, made when land near the park was hired out to stage special shows which not many local people attended, (or knew about), and I filmed it all for Noel Dillon, the organiser. They are all country music groups and non stop music, for well over four hours! There's a lot of things which should be included from the GRANADA days when they were spendig money for new rides, and you can see behind the scenes of how they were erected, and launched. I honestly did not realise how much I had shot over the years, and a lot of it features YOU if you worked there as a performer, magician, employee, train driver, or ride operator. It needs to be seen rather than be locked away. It was the ideal place foreverone who needed seasonal work, and finding employment - for some they discovered they had hidden talents they never knew they had! There is little preserved of the park and it's seasonal activities, but things are in hand to preserve it's memories for all time, but more on that later. If you were an employee between 1988 to 1995 then you might catch a glimpse of yourself, and if you were one of the entertainers, then you certainly will! More news posted 12/10/09: THE BIG NEWS! The direct video to DVD masters, (six in number), have now been completed; these will be the originals from which all future copies will be made. They feature an introduction of when the site was 'Britannia Park', and show an interview with Peter Kellard of KLF, Henry Cooper opening the site, and a magnificent shot of Concord flying over and climbing up into the air. Sir Petert Hylton and Lady Hylton are shown with other celebreties. Then it's over to the Granada days. See some of the cast of 'Coronation Street' visiting; several of 'The Gladiators' (especially 'WOLF'); 'The African Queen' boat and it's owner interviewed; then there's the best bit's from several Staff 'Raft Races' made when the public had gone home; glimpse's between the season's in 1991-92, when the park was covered in thick snow like a winter wonderland. Meet the Maintenance Staff working on the rides, fun at the AA farm; you possibly didn't know there was one! That's where some of the cowboy's stayed during the season. Lot's of the 'End of Season' shows, the Entertainment Staff's version of 'The Wizard of Oz', and much, much more. Like all good DVD's there will be out-takes, but that's another story!! Special events too with 'BandWaggon', 'The John Gill Band'. Michael James from the USA; Joe Sadio, Noel Dillon and the Foster Boys, and Johnny Toronto.
