Blackpool North Shore Folk Dance Club

We were formed in 1991 with the purpose of promoting folk dance, specifically English Country dancing within the Blackpool and Fylde area.
We meet to dance every Wednesday night from mid-September to early-May with short breaks at Christmas and Easter.
Each week some 30 or so members enjoy dancing a variety of dances from varying genre – Playford, Modern, English-contra, etc. Abilities range from novice to some who are quite expert but we are always happy to welcome new members with or without any previous experience, with or without a partner.
We normally dance to recorded music with callers drawn from our own members though we frequently have callers visiting from other clubs around the wider Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside area and occasionally on club nights we dance to live music.
Each January we organise our “January Jig” a Saturday-night dance with live music and a guest caller, supported by the many dancers in the wider area.
So, Where? When? And How much?
We meet in “The Barn” at All Hallows Church, All Hallows Road, Bispham, Blackpool, FY2 0AY.
We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.45pm – check CALENDAR for exact dates.
Members pay just £2.00 per evening, non-members and guests £3.00 but your first visit is FREE.

Membership is £5.00 for the whole season September to May, £3.00 if you join after New Year.
For further details contact the club's secretary Chris Barcroft on 01253-858994.
