An article published in the "Lancashire Life" Magazine in July 2004 describes St Walburge's Preston as one of The Seven Wonders of Lancashire, along with Pendle Hill, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, Manchester Town Hall, Blackpool Tower, The Ashton Memorial Lancaster, and Coniston Old Man (Lakeland mountain).

The Friends of Real Lancashire have re-produced the article on their website..............

Pendle Towns and Villages

"Pendle's towns and villages are steeped in history. Some have associations with Pendle Witches, others bear the stamp of the textile revolution. One thing they all share are the meadows and windswept moorlands of Lancashire's Hill Country - right on their doorsteps...." (From "Pendle Street Atlas")
