Name :- Martin Bayliss Position :- Defender
Martin is a very talented player who is equally at home at either fullback or on the wing. One would do well to find a better fullback pairing than him and Phil Barrigan. A dead ball specialist his free kicks have become an invaluable asset to the team on numerous occasions. Martin was named as Manager's Player of the Year in 2005/06.
Name :- Phil Barrigan Position :- Defender
Phil is now an integral part of his managers plans. He has gained confidence in finding a regular position in the team at fullback and his long throw is a huge asset to the team. He is also equally comfortable at playing down either flank, as he is two footed and his reliability as a defender is paramount to the team.
Name :- Paul Garland Position :- Defender
Signed from neighbours Rainford N.E in the summer of 2007 Paul is an excellent addition to the squad. The stocky defender loves a tackle and his physical presence will make a huge difference to the Greenfield squad.

Name :- Lee Roberts Position :- Defender
Lee is a cool and composed centre half who will put his body on the line for the team. Having previously been used as a holding midfield player Lee has used that experience effectively and is comfortable bringing the ball out of defence, linking up well with those in front of him. First into every tackle this no nonsense centre back can always be relied upon when it comes to matchday.
Name :- Rob Ablewhite Position :- Midfielder
A very talented player who has previously played at centre half for the club, but enjoyed the best part of last season on the right of midfield. Good on the ball and able to dictate play with his quick feet and accurate passing. Rob joined the club in Jan 2007 and has previously played at a semi-pro level.
Name :- Chris Duffy Position :- Midfielder
After completing his first season in Greenfield colours Chris played a huge role in bringing the Northern Cup to Bishop Road. With excellent ball retention ability he's good on the ball and can run at the opposition too. For such a tall player he has a great array of skills and was awarded the Managers Player of the Year last season.
Name :- Dan Smith Position :- Midfielder
Strong in the tackle and capable of creating opportunities for his team via his vision for precise through balls and sweet left foot. Danny works hard in the centre of the midfield covering a lot of the pitch throughout a game and is a solid competitor on matchday.
Name :- Phil Burrows Position :- Midfielder
Phil is club captain and epitomises what the team is all about. A hard working all round midfield player, who is good in the air and with a good engine allowing him to cover the whole of the pitch, also has a keen eye for goal. Voted Man of the Match in the Northern Cup Final the skipper also picked up the Players Player of the Year last season.
Name :- Kevin Stead Position :- Defender / Midfielder
With high levels of stamina Kevin is one of the fittest players in the squad. He has shown many encouraging aspects within his game down the Greenfield flanks as he continuously harasses opposing fullbacks. He has also managed to chip in with a few goals for the club and was named as Clubman of the Year 2005-2006.
Name :- Matt Innes Position :- Midfielder
A long term transfer target for Greenfield, this match winner will have a huge impact on the team both on and off the pitch. A very talented player who would walk into any combination team can play in a number of positions. Matt is at his best running at defenders with his fast feet and fantastic dribbling skills and his powerful shot will no doubt lead to a few goals.
Name :- Scott Vickers Position :- Midfielder
Another mid-season signing from Knowsley South this holding midfield player will help massively in the end of term run in. Sitting in front of the back four, Scott can play a key role in protecting those behind him. What he lacks in size he makes up for with heart and his passion to win sets him apart from others.
Name :- Lee Veidman Position :- Midfielder / Forward
Lee was signed from Combination Premiership outfit Knowsley South and can play as a striker or right sided midfielder. With his pace and power he is a defenders worst nightmare and his direct running and excellent link up play is going to be a huge asset to the Greenfield squad. Big things are expected from him this coming season.
Name :- Tim Mulligan Position :- Forward
Finishing Greenfield's top scorer for the past two seasons Tim has shown how vital he is to the teams success, with his goals to games ratio very impressive. Tall and awkward to mark, Tim is comfortable either playing with a strike partner or without, which gives the team different options in attack.
Name :- Craig Butcher Position :- Forward
A summer signing for the 2007/08 season, big things are expected of the stocky striker. Despite his lack of height, Craig is strong on the ball and causes defenders all kinds of problems. His pace and unbelievable ball skills mean he is a constant menace for the opposition and arrives with an excellent goal scoring record. |
