Welcome to Hodge House Allotment Society

What goes 99 click?
No it's not the centipede with the wooden leg but it is our treasurer checking up on the number of plots on our site.

We do have 99 plots with a couple of spare bits of ground for car parks and utility bays and that's where the click comes in - he clicks his teeth when he finds that he can't draw rent on the car parks and utility bays.

Seriously though we do have 99 plots and most of these are occupied but if you are looking for an allotment in our area then please do contact us. There is always a chance that one will become free in the near future.

Most of our plots are for growing vegetables or flowers but we also have a few with hens, geese, pigeons and even bees. Sorry no other type of livestock is allowed.

As with most organisations there are rules and guidelines to follow and there is a "committee" to put up with, but this is comprised of gentle sorts who have the best interests of the society at heart.

We have recently had a new community hut built for our use and we are looking at the possibility of improving facilities on the site. The main aim is to provide a site of "happy diggers" as well as promote gardening within the local area.

One of the good things about our society is that there are plenty of members who have skill ranges from basic to D****d good and most of them will pass the time of day with you should you wish it. If you are a novice then one of our champion growers will not doubt give you a tip or two without becoming domineering or boring!

Please feel free to browse through our site and look out for events and links
Back to our treasurer - he doesn't really click his teeth - but he does click with all those members who pay there dues on time!
