Water pipework regulations

Water Supply Regulations
Previously individual water suppliers controlled water supply pipework via a number of "Water Bylaws"
Following work carried out to include water supply pipework under Building Regulations, it was decided not to proceed with this but to work instead under the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (SI 1999/1148). This set of regulations works mainly by "self regulation" by plumbers but certain installations require notification to the appropriate Water Authority (such as Yorkshire Water). The system also includes some exemptions for approved installers.
