Would Leigh benifit from a Veterans XI team

Points deducted
 The long awaited de-merger between Leigh and Manchster hockey clubs as finaly happend after two seasons of the two clubs having the same Sec.it was decided that the time was now right to de-merge and was seen as the best way to find a new way forward,thus keeping both identaties intact.Two grounds fifteen miles appart will still be used one at Westleigh and one at Belle Vue,Manchester.There was no need to change colours as both clubs played in green.If anyone wishes to play hockey give us a call. Training is at Belle Vue starting at 8pm.
The 8th December saw Leigh take on Urmston at Flixton.The game eventually started at 4-15pm after twenty five minutes the Leigh umpire spoke to the other umpire about the conditions and the bad light as the floodlights did not make much difference,and there now was a danger to the players.The league in their wisdom said Leigh had left the field and have deducted ten points from Leigh. |

2008/09 season begins with warm up game at home against Buxton on the 20th Sept. The league starts on the 27th Sept with a fixture against Formby. |
Club Nights and Training
If anyone wishes to join our hockey club,you are welcome at our games or come up on training nights. We train on Thursday night at Belle Vue.Training starts at 8pm. Interested then ring Ray Brunt on 01942 605974 |
New change strip
The club have been presented with a new change strip by Mars. their rep came into our club secretary`s shop and could not resist Ray`s tale of woe,the next time she came in was to bring 30 maroon shirts.So next time you feel peckish down a Mars bar as thanks on behalf of the club. |
