Mickey and Joey
We have two little budgies, they chirp and play all day,
Mickey talks his head off, yet, Joey has no say.
So clever is our Mickey, he recites his home address,
And includes his telephone number,
And says, 'no smoking thanks'.
Our Joey is a pale blue, with wings as white as snow.
He sings and sings, and follows Mickey, wherever he may go.
Mickey is up to speed, with hi-tech talk and says,
'what type of computer have you got'.
When I start to eat a meal, they fly onto my head.
To see what's going in my mouth,
And to see what they can snatch.
They're so very interesting, and even as I type,
I can hear Mickey saying, where he lives and
They have a kind of influence,
which pets so often have.
To take away everyday cares.
Even if your feeling quite sad.
I awake them up at six,
When I come downstairs each day.
And often see them side by side,
Catching up sleep anyway.
