Who are we?
Rotaract is an opportunity to be part of a fun, dynamic and unique International organisation for people aged 18-30, offering a wide range of activities that will enable you to try something new, whilst having a great time and meeting others. Rotaract offers a wide choice of social activities, actively supports your local community, raises money for charity and gives you the opportunity to develop your personal skills and gain new life experiences in the UK and abroad.
Rotaract is a branch of the Rotary International organisation. This sponsorship results from Rotary's desire for young people to take an active interest in community life and have opportunities for professional development. Each Rotaract club is sponsored by a local Rotary Club. Our club benefits from ties with several Rotary Clubs:
Blackburn Rotary Club
Blackburn Borough Rotary Club
Blackburn West Rotary Club
Darwen Rotary Club
Pendle View Rotary Club
Through our Rotary links, we can call on support for charity and community activities, such as the annual bonfire, and we also have a number of joint Rotaray-Rotaract social events throughout the year, such as bowling and brewery trips
There are around 7,555 Rotaract clubs throughout the world, spanning 156 countries. The first Rotaract club was chartered on 13 March 1968 in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
In Britain alone there are 170 clubs, and these are grouped into 27 districts. We are a member of District 1190, which spans Lancashire and Cumbria.
