Moving towards Shopmobility

I first became interested in the idea of setting up a Shopmobiity scheme in Prestwich while standing on my pitch outside Percivals on the precinct selling the Big Issue.  Every day I see people who have difficulty getting around the shops, especially given the distance between the main precinct, the relocated pharmacy and Tesco.
I started by sending a letter to the Prestwich & Whitefield Guide.  I was surprised by the amount of positive reaction I got from local people.  I contacted the local councillors and got very prompt replies with some helpful suggestions.  I also contacted the local MP and the Prestwich Business Forum.
What I would like to do is set a ball rolling, then hopefully a group of local people would take on the project.  I have set up this site as a way of getting concrete reactions from local residents.
