Who Are Shredded Feet Appalachian Dancers?
 | Shredded Feet are a Leyland-based Appalachian Dance display team. They perform dances and music from the Appalachian Mountains region of the American South. The dance style is sometimes known as 'clogging', though the dancers wear shoes rather than wooden-soled Lancashire clogs. The music is usually known as 'Old Time', which is a forerunner to the better-known Bluegrass style. Such Old Time folk music was featured recently in the George Clooney comedy film "O Brother Where Art Thou?".
The team has performed at many venues in Lancashire and twice has travelled to Azay-le-Rideau in the Loire Region of France.

Shredded Feet Want You!
Shredded Feet wish to recruit experienced dancers, singers and musicians to perform with their display team. Whether you are a clog dancer, line dancer, square dancer, morris dancer, country dancer or tap dancer, if you would like to perform Appalachian dances in public please get in touch. Similarly, keen and competent musicians and singers from all backgrounds, whether old time, folk, blues, morris, country, Cajun, gospel, bluegrass, Irish or karaoke, are welcome to apply to join the team. You won't earn a fortune, but you will be part of a friendly team and will entertain audiences at many different venues.

SHREDDED FEET R.I.P
| At their meeting on Tuesday 6th January 2004, at the RAFA Club Leyland, Shredded Feet Appalachian Dancers decided to call it a day. They will be selling their assets - a dance floor and amplifier - and will be throwing a farewell party for all members, past and present. If you are interested in buying anything, or are an ex-member wishing to attend, please get in touch ASAP. | |
