St Bedes RC High School, a Specialist Sports College

Hello and welcome to the site of St Bedes RC High School, a Specialist Sports College. Firstly, I would like to thank 'THIS IS LANCASHIRE' for giving me the opportunity to set up a website on behalf of my school. My name is Thomas McGowan and I attend St Bedes, I am in year 9. Whilst reading The Lancashire Evening Telegraph on the 17th of June I came across a small article about starting a website... so I jumped at the chance. Recently at school there was a fancy dress marathon for charity in which years 7,8 and 9 took part in. The marathon was run around the schools perimeter on a beautiful, hot summers day. A large sum of money was raised for the charity which we were to be sponsored for. There was prizes for the fastest runners (male and female) for every year and the best fancy dressed people in each year. On Thursday 16th and Friday 17th school launched a radio station which began at eight on Thursday morning and finished at six that evening and then the same times the following day. It was a great success in everyone's mind. Certain pupils from the gifted and talented group at our school took part in the radio station and a handful of individuals took part in broadcasting for about one hour or two.
