New Boy Fires Thwaites to Victory
 |
After struggling all season Thwaites finnally won there first game of the Company League Season with an excellent 3-1 victory over Grampus 7.
It was the kind of result Thwaites had been threatening all season but for once they had an end product to some excellent moves. That was down to new boy who was known only as 'Jay', who's finishing was exceptional.
The game started brightly for Thwaites as they immediately took control of the game, and finnally their early pressure paid off when Dan Logan surged up from the back played a one two with Bell and slammed the ball into the bottom corner. The brewery side continued to attack Grampus, Jay, Tabbinor and Bell all going close. Grampus came close to an equaliser late in the first half but keeper Slater made a fine stop.
The second half continued much the same as the first with Thwaites running the game, they doubled their lead when new signing Jay linked up well with Bell and cooley slotted the ball in the bottom corner.
This wasnt the end of his goal scoring, only minutes later, he caught a Grampus defender in possesion and slammed the ball home to make the points safe.
Tipton could have made it 4-0 when he found himself one on one with the keeper but he shot over the bar.
As Thwaites sat back, Grampus did the late attacking but fine tackles from Tormay, Tabbinor and Logan kept them out.
Grampus got a late consolation goal but it wasnt enough to worry Thwaites.
