Hopwood slams Targett and calls for the return of Tabbinor!
Thwaites midfield starlet has given his full support to colleague Damian
Tabbinor in his conquest to replace Gary Targett as manager. Targett has had
a very poor year and has already suffered a relegation in his first season
in charge. His goalkeeping exploits have also left a lot to be desired which
has seen Dominic Southworth prove he is a worthy replacement in goal.
Hopwood exclaimed ' Damian was forced out too early on in the season. The
team had hardly found their feet and had not settled into the pace of the
game. Now we are used to it and we are still getting beat which is all down
to the managers tactics. The only time we have played well apart from
against B & F FC which we lost anyway was on Sunday against Craven when Gary
was not present!! Damian has been a permanent fixture and knows all about
the club - he's been here all his life, the fans love him.'
Hopwood started most games at the start of the season when Tabbinor was in
charge when the squad was not as big. Now as Targett has brought his own men
in it has seen the Thwaites hard-man dropping down the pecking order which
has seen his fitness suffer as a result.
Manager Targett has refused to comment on speculation that his managerial
position is to be terminated and has just decided to concentrate solely on
Thwaites last game in the Cup Knockout competition. However, he is sure to
be livid at one of his players calling for him to be replaced.
