Last Gasp Winner for Thwaites!!
 | Thwaites last night bounced back from there three straight defeats with a win against Whittles, thanks to a last minute winner from man of the match and hat trick hero on the night Simon Tipton.
Thwaites started brilliantly, immediatley testing the Whittles keeper, with Tabbinor going close and Tipton and Southworth who was playing out field for the first time in weeks, both hitting the bar.
When it seemed like Thwaites would never score, Tipton broke free and slammed the ball home to point the brewery side in the lead. Minutes later Tipton again found himself in space and again punished Whittles slack defending.
The game then took a twist when defender Tabbinor was sin binned for three minutes for what seemed like only a wave of the arm in the referees direction after a poor decision went against him. Thwaites then shot themselves in the foot again when keeper Targett stryaed from his area to concede a penalty, which Whittles easily converted.
Whittles drew level, when Thwaites who were still minus Tabbinor who had clearly been off for more than 3 minutes, conceded again threw slack defending.
But before Whittles could finish celebrating Tabbinor and Tormay linked up brilliantly and Tormay turned and lashed the ball home.
Thwaites started in the second how they started in first at full pace and again tested the keeper fully with nearly the whole side having chances to further there lead, but they finnally made it 4-2 when Southworth found himslef in achers of sapce at the back post and wasted no chance in opening his account for the season.
Thwaites as they did in the first let it slip, as they pushed forward to wrap uo the win, and conceded two goals in quick succession and Whittles levelled the game for the second time.
The game seemed destined to end in a draw but commoth the hour, commoth the man and Simon Tipton weeved his way through the defence as he did all through the game and stook the ball in the bottom corner. Thwaites then defended well with Tipton and Tabbinor putting in some last gasp challenges to hold out for the victory. It was no more than they desereved.
They now find themselves mid table with 5 points and a game in hand, a much different story to lat year.
Match Ratings-
Targett-8- Made some fine stops
Tabbinor-8- Some excellent challenges and could bagged a couple.
Tipton-10- Another wondeful display and a well deserved hat trick.
Tormay-8- Possibly his best display in Thwaites shirt.
Southworth-8- Looked much more comfortable out field.
Slater-8- One of his quiter games possibly down to injury early on in the game, but was still always dangerous.
Although this was an excellent result for Thwaites they will face questioning for an after match incident involving manager Gary Targett and referee Immy Khan. Targett has been accused of asking the red what the final score was in a funny voice, which the referee did not like and ordered Targett to get away from the desk. Khan was qouted by one of Targetts fellow players as saying, " Get away, I can get you done for that, the way you said that".
No we have no idea what he did wrong either.
