Former Hero to Visit as Guest of Honour.
 | Hero of yesterday George Elmer, The Wizard as he was known in his day, will be guest of honour for next Sundays game.
George played between 1930 and 1955, and also played along side Thwaites greatest ever player Daniel Thwaites who has sadly passed on. He made 600 appearances for Thwaites, scoring 256 goals from his wide right position. He retired at the age of 45.
Elmer now 97 had this to say, "It will be great to be back to have a look round the place, its changed so much since I was at the club. It will be a very emotional return for me."
Thwaites will be hoping his visit will inspire them to victory something they have been missing on Sundays in recent weeks. Elmer also found time to offer his services.
"Id be more than happy to give the manager Carl some advice to help him out, if Carl would just talk to me."
