Football Named and Shamed!
 | After months of court battles the footballer who was trying to keep the story about him having a affairs with two women out of the paper has finnally been named.
The premiership player is Thwaites midfielder Jamie Hopwood. Hopwood had battled all the way with The Sun newspaper but lost the battle earlier today and The Sun won the rights to name and shame him.
Hopwood declined to talk about it after he lost the case.
A spokesman for The Sun however said this, " When someone allows themself to become a celebrity, they loose the right to keep their personal life a sercet, and with being a high class footballer the public have a righ to know."
Hopwood has been married to Catherine for 5 years now, but in that time it has been discovered that he has had affairs with two women, one a school head teacher, and the other a bar made from a local pub.
Hopwood and his wife have parted company due to these two affairs and this has resulted in Hopwood going on drinking binges. The only person from Thwaites Fc who commented was team mate Dominic Hopwood, he said, " Well Jamie knows he's done wrong, and the split has affected him terribly. Just the other night we were out on a lads night out, and he had another argument with the wife, and he ended drinking himself stupid. I knwo this is a regular thing for the Thwaites team but Jamie went over the top last time."
Despite all this going on it hasnt affected Hopwood's game, and he will again be in line up for Thwates tonight. One he must expect though is abuse from the opposition fans.
(Pictured Hopwood, he wont be smirking anymore). |
